I had the honor of having Heather as my primary provider and midwife for my first baby (and only so far). I am very particular about who I have in my home and who I have in my space (especially during birth). I wanted someone who brought a calmness and sense of love to my birth experience. Heather was PERFECT. Heather was so informative and knowledgeable about every part of my pregnancy throughout the birthing of my son. She helped me make great nutritional choices and gave me a holistic, educated approach to maintain a healthy pregnancy and getting to my end goal of a dream home birth. She taught me ways to change my diet to avoid becoming preeclamptic and avoiding gestational diabetes and balancing my diet to avoid blood sugar spikes.
She spoke to my son at each of our appointments throughout the pregnancy so he was just as comfortable as I was when he came earthside.
When it came to the delivery itself I was having a longer than anticipated labor and Heather kept in contact from the moment the contractions started the night prior then her team stayed with me from 2am on once she knew the time was approaching. My husband being a paramedic was initially hesitant about a home birth but was eased at her knowledge and the medical access that she has that even he doesn't have access to as a paramedic. Our 9 pound baby was born at 7:45pm and Heather monitored us both and was encouraging and knowledgeable about helping me know what to do and encouraged my movements along the way. She helped show my husband ways to ease discomfort throughout birth and brought a sense of security with her the entire time. My son had taken in some meconium during his arrival and Heather handled the urgency with such calmness and grace that It washed over me as well. My husband was concerned about his son taking a moment to breathe right away but her and her team do what they do best, calming my husband down and reassuring him that he was healthy and in good hands with good stats , all while I was joyfully meeting my son. It was the most beautiful experience of my life and something I will forever be grateful for. I will definitely be using her services throughout my future births, our family is safe in her hands.
She's a phenomenal masseuse as well, I had pre and post messages with her and she helped ease some pregnancy discomfort! My son even came to one with me and she taught him (and I) that he can stick out his tongue! We love Heather!

Heather is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I found her while hunting for a midwife that aligned with my values and a whole new community opened up to me after that. She referred me to the BEST Chiro, the BEST lactation consultant, the BEST placenta encapsulator— basically— all my questions were answered and worries eased when I found her. She is a wealth of knowledge in so many areas. I received the most AMAZING prenatal massage from her and literally everyone who knows her sings her praises. I received all of my prenatal and postpartum care from her as well as baby care for 6 weeks. She was amazing at my birth. It was my first pregnancy and birth and it was a beautiful and surreal experience in the comfort of my own home. She is amazingly skilled and is so so informed and supportive. I literally recommend her as a midwife to everyone I know who is childbearing age and everyone else for massage. I was blessed to have her by my side as I journeyed through pregnancy and was born as a mother.

I had such a memorable experience under Heather’s care. I had interviewed a couple midwives in the area but once I met with Heather and we chatted for well over an hour, I knew she’d be the one to help guide me in bringing our newest baby earth side. Throughout our prenatal visits, I felt comfortable and confident that the preparation I was doing under her care would benefit me + baby greatly come time for delivery. Heather was very responsive, honest, and gave great recommendations. Our visits were never rushed and felt very personable, she went great lengths to involve my 2 toddler daughters as much as possible and the overall experience has had a lasting positive impact on them. Come time for labor, we live streamed contractions and I gave her a call once my water broke. Things moved rather quickly and intensified from that point, and baby was born within minutes of her + Kayleen walking in the door. A huge thank you to Heather for instilling such confidence in me to trust my body to birth in an undisturbed, physiological manner. She respected our values and the elements we wanted as part of the labor and delivery. The postpartum visits were lovely and included a yoni steam and follow ups from the comfort of my own bed. I do wish postpartum visits could be extended beyond the 6 weeks, but that’s only because we really enjoyed Heather’s company + support. I would highly recommend her to any mama looking for a family centered birth experience.

I started seeing Heather in my 25th week of pregnancy. I wish I had found her so much sooner. I started with a prenatal massage, and by the end of it, was ready to change my plans from a birth center delivery to a home birth with Heather. She is very knowledgeable and errs on the side of caution, but always respected my voice and desires for my pregnancy and delivery. What I especially loved were all of the homemade teas, salves, and sprays she made for my pregnancy and postpartum recovery. I had an unplanned, unassisted birth with my first child and wanted something similar with my second. Heather showed up in every way I wanted! I had a very difficult time healing after my first birth and felt like I received very little care with Kaiser on how to cope or what to do with all the newness and difficulties. Heather made everything that was unpleasant last time wonderful this time. She stayed for hours after the baby was born, making sure everyone was healthy and healing. She came to my home the next day to care for me and the baby! Such a difference than just one appointment 6 weeks later for mom at the hospital. She then came again to my home 3 days after birth. It’s honestly so wonderful not having to take a newborn out the first couple of days, but to have the care come to you. Heather took each of my concerns and tailored her care to exactly what I needed and wanted. She takes her time with each appointment answering every question and concern with diligence and expertise. You’ll feel very cared for and supported with Heather as your midwife.

As a mom who had her first born at a hospital I can tell you that my experience with a homebirth with my second child was night and day. Heather was more attentive and she cared more about my preferences and well being  rather than going through an impersonal procedure.
Along with my baby's health, my health and comfort was a top priority.
Having a homebirth with Heather was the best decision I could make for me and my baby.

Heather is such a light in the birthing community. By far the best care and respectful practices made my birth the birth I have always wanted and dreamed of. When it comes to birth Heather is very respectful of women and is very knowledgeable in all things women and baby. It was a blessing because laboring was so much easier and full of bliss knowing you are in good hands. Forever grateful for people like her whom are so dedicated to what they do that it makes becoming a mother so much better because during the most important moment in life you were respected and cared for that of which is rare these days. I wouldn’t my births any other way!
